What is tiny Empires? How do I play?
Tiny Empires is a HUD-interfaced game within Second Life, based loosely on the feudal system of the Middle Ages.
The amount of land (acres) you own indicates your rank (see here for a list of ranks and acres). The more land you own, the higher your rank.
Each acre earns you gold, along with various fortuitous (and amusing!) circumstances that
occur. This gold, in turn, affords you the chance to buy more acres.

As you put your trial HUD on, you'll note the time piece in the top left corner. When the full circle is completed, another 'turn' (or month) comes around. Each new month brings different offers on your HUD. During each turn you gain some income from your land that you already own, and pay homage to your liege. You can also be offered the chance to buy more land, sell land, upgrade your technology (dig with a shovel rather than fingernails, use a plough, hire a worker, buy an ox, etc.) to increase productivity from your land, solve riddles and puzzles, win prizes in competitions and the like. And once a year (12 turns) you must pay your taxes, of course!
Tiny Empires can be played almost anytime, anywhere in Second Life (note: the parcel or sim you are on must allow the running of scripts, or your HUD will not work). You can chat, dance, build, shop, explore the wonders of SL, while your HUD runs. Tiny Empires is completely self-contained and just for fun.
Your trial HUD lasts until you reach 10 acres- enough time for you to love it as much as the rest of us! After that, you must move on to a full HUD, which operates the same as the trial HUD.
Want to build your own empire? Your trial HUD can be 'taken off' and then passed (it is transferable and copyable) to a friend. Once you move to the full HUD, don't toss the trial! You can still pass the trial HUD and folder to prospective new players.
Your new subjects-to-be will stand near you and request you as a liege, same as you did when you began playing.
Then they, in turn can do the same...and so your tiny empire grows.
Happy playing!
