The Festival
The festival (Federation HUD only!) comes around in between the Trader sightings, though there is no set schedule...sometimes immediately before or after the Trader, sometimes spaced out. It is a random occurrence, and the only advance warning is the Monarchs (kings and queens), they have the opportunity to bid on being festival hosts shortly before the festival comes around.
You have to pay a small fee to attend the festival.

Fortune Teller
When you visit the Fortune Teller at the Festival, she'll take your 10 gold and give you cryptic advice.
"A common answer will unite, thence reward of avian white." On the unity questions, if you answer the same as the majority, you'll get the cute fluffy chicken. Not a great fortune, but hey, you get what you paid for. "Loyalty won is loyalty earned, Loyalty bent is loyalty spurned." - larger rewards gained for turning down bribes (whilst your liege is online) festival to festival - do nothing "Charity be it's own reward. Offer <insert letter> what thou afford." - give someone whose name starts with that letter an acre in the next turn. Look in your downline first, then in the kingdom to see if anyone is on that you can pass the acre to. There is no real benefit to this...since as it states, charity is it's own reward. "Fame and fortune follow thee but first begin with amity." - Basically, you need to make sure you have all 4 allies. "Friendship's gem be rare. Amity begins with <insert letter>." - Check with your allies with that letter, one should have recieved/found a gem. "Terra nova invenio aurum." - Purchased land earns you gold (surprises). It appears that it happens only on that particular turn. "Vigilance when bought or sold, land rewards with hidden gold." - when you buy an acre, you'll find hidden gold. When you sell an acre, you'll get an extra gold reward from an "unrelated matter." "Against sabotage, a keep be nice. A castle owned, sayeth twice." - When you buy your keep and castle (as of this posting, only shown to those who have not purchased either or are missing one) "The beasts of burden shall soon burden thee no more." - Nothing known yet. "Dost thou seek a bar of gold? Check the purse thou hold" - A gold bar has been deposited into your accounting tab. If you received the book from the Trader, the Fortune Teller MAY give you the key to unlock it. The unlocked book must then be translated by the Abbott. |
The Joust
In order to joust, you must give up one personal acre of your land. There are three rounds to each tournament. At any time if you lose, you sit out for the other rounds and are given the opportunity to wager on a random joust between opponents. In each round, the HUD displays the name, rank, and kingdom of your opponent, the direction you face, and the options you have- 2 aiming for the chest at variable speeds and one aiming for the head. You are facing someone else who also has the opportunity to make selections on their approach. There is no proven method for winning your jousts- it is a matter of chance. The only known variable is the direction you face. If, by chance, you and your opponent both select the same approach, the person facing EAST wins. If you win all three tournaments of the joust, you get a susbtantial gold reward and citizens. Win 10 or more jousts, a special award of 1 gold per acre increased production is received. The Ball
At the end of the festival there is a ball. You are given the option to stand by someone you wish to escort you to the ball.
One set of partners/escorts will randomly be selected to receive a gold bar. |
